The Signs of Recovery (SOR)
"If there has ever been a hopeless case, it's me. If I were ever
to transform this hell in my head and stand on my own two feet, boy would
I have a story to tell!"
These were my words spoken as I expressed my desire to end my own life.
Now, several years later, these words ring clearly in my mind as I strive
to promote an original, energy-packed and emotional program of my own creation...a
program which shares the truth I've come to know in my life and through
my own expericence: the strength to survive, to overcome, to grow
and finally to fly, lies ever within us...and none are exempt from the
miracles that reaching inward will bring into their lives.

Lisa Richards is a recovering anorexic, food addict, co-dependent and survivor
of multiple forms of trauma nd abuse. She has overcome severe anxiety
disorder, episodes with depression and obesessive compulsive disorder.
She credits the principles and treatmen methods of Dr. William Tollefson,
a gifted psychologist, national lecturer & author, for giving her the
tools she needed to truly enter recovery and find, develop & express
herself. Her greatest desire is to spread the trugh she has come
to believe through her own experience...EVERYONE has the power within themselves
to survive AND to learn to thrive. Lisa recently published her poetry
in the form of a book entitled, Recovering My Wings: One Woman's
Journey Through Trauma, Abuse, Anorexia, Anxiety, Depression and...A Poetic
Account (which is available from her directly). She is currently
focusing her efforts into sharing her message of hope in psych hospitals,
halfway houses, recovery groups, professional seminars and other appropriate
settings.
Cost
The Signs of Recovery is fully dependent on the contributions of those
it serves. Often those who are in greatest need are the least able
to pay. Therefore the generosity of able contributors is requested
in order to make this program available to ALL in need.
